First National Bank of Omaha and Nebraska State Treasurer Don Stenberg today announced the first winners of the Young Beneficiary New Account Drawing. Each winner receives a $529 contribution to his or her NEST 529 Advisor Plan account for a beneficiary who is 8 years old or younger:
“The winners are the first of a total of 20 account owners nationwide who will receive contributions to their NEST 529 Advisor Plan accounts,” said Nebraska State Treasurer Don Stenberg. “We hope this scholarship money will serve as a stepping stone to help the winners’ young beneficiary on the path to college.”
To qualify for the drawing, an individual must open and contribute to a new NEST 529 Advisor Plan account for a beneficiary 8 years old or younger. Two winners are randomly drawn each month. These winners were drawn from eligible accounts opened between March and July 2016. An additional ten winners will be randomly drawn each month from August through December 2016.
“With ten more scholarships to be won, you still have plenty of time to work with your financial advisor to open a NEST 529 Advisor Plan account,” said Deborah Goodkin, Managing Director, Savings Plans, First National Bank of Omaha. “There’s no better time than now to open an account, especially since it could mean $529 more put away for your beneficiary’s future. Our hands-on customer service team is ready and excited to help you with your college aspirations.”
