My Nebraska Big Dreams Giveaway 2017
NEST College Savings Celebrates Nebraska’s 150th Anniversary
$20,000 to Be Awarded in My Nebraska Big Dreams Giveaway

In honor of Nebraska’s 150th anniversary of statehood, First National Bank of Omaha and Nebraska State Treasurer Don Stenberg have launched the My Nebraska Big Dreams Giveaway. NEST 529 College Savings Plan, the sponsor of Big Dreams, is giving away four $5,000 contributions to children 8 years old or younger.

“It is an exciting time in Nebraska as we celebrate our sesquicentennial year,” said State Treasurer Stenberg, Trustee of NEST. “To commemorate, four Nebraska children will each receive a $5,000 contribution to a NEST529 account for future higher education. This milestone for our state warrants a big celebration.”

Nebraska residents can enter the My Nebraska Big Dreams Giveaway online at NEST529.com/NebraskaDreams or mail an entry to First National Bank of Omaha, Attn: “Big Dreams Giveaway,” 1620 Dodge St., Stop 1105, Omaha, NE 68197-1105. To receive a bonus entry, a Nebraska resident can open a new NEST Direct or NEST Advisor College Savings Plan account and enter the promo code “NebraskaDreams.” The new account must be opened on behalf of a beneficiary 8 years old or younger.

The giveaway is open through October 17, 2017. The four winners will be selected on or about October 27, 2017.

The contest is offered in conjunction with “Truckin’ Through Nebraska,” a mobile children’s museum celebrating Nebraska’s 150th anniversary. The museum will tour from April through the fall of 2017, visiting 42 Nebraska communities. While the mobile museum is intended to delight children ages 5-12, audiences of all ages will enjoy the exhibits. Through play, interactivity and technology, children can explore their heritage and envision their futures and career possibilities, while learning the history of Nebraska. A list of all 42 stops can be found at ne150.org/museum.

“The interactive mobile children’s museum combines the history and future of our state. Children will learn about Nebraska’s past while simultaneously envisioning their futures and what career paths interest them,” said Deborah Goodkin, Managing Director, Savings Plans, First National Bank of Omaha. “This exhibit, which allows children to explore their ‘future me,’ continues our five-year initiative to encourage children to dream of their future through exhibits in children’s museums across the state. I hope these scholarship contributions help the four winning children go after their goals and grow up to be the people they aspire to be.”
