First National Bank of Omaha and Nebraska State Treasurer John Murante today announced the Big Dreams Start Here $529 Drawing in partnership with the Lincoln Children’s Museum. The contest, which runs from January 1 to December 31, 2019 invites individuals to submit the name of a child 10 years of age and younger for a chance to receive a $529 contribution to their NEST 529 account. The randomly selected winners of the drawing will be announced in 2020.
“We are pleased to welcome in 2019 alongside the Lincoln Children’s Museum for the Big Dreams Start Here Drawing,” said Treasurer Murante. “Prioritizing savings early on sets a positive precedent for years to come, and helps remind account owners to focus on their savings goals and set themselves up for success. Whether they’re just embarking on their savings journey or already have their sights set on specific educational aspirations, we encourage all who are eligible to participate in this contest.”
The Big Dreams Start Here Drawing kicks off a yearlong partnership between NEST 529 College Savings and the Lincoln Children’s Museum. Heralded for its interactive exhibits, the Lincoln Children’s Museum plans to enhance its acclaimed and beloved Tiny Town exhibit as part of the partnership, transforming the installation into a NEST 529-inspired space. The updated installation will feature tools and information that will encourage families to learn how to save and dream big.
“Each year, NEST strives to offer a wide variety of scholarships and drawings that will support higher education savings practices, and instill the habit of saving early and often. We look forward to our partnership with the Lincoln Children’s Museum and are eager to see the positive impact that their NEST 529-themed Tiny Town will have on families and their savings strategies,” said Deborah Goodkin, Managing Director, Savings Plans, First National Bank of Omaha. “Big dreams are founded upon small steps, and we hope that this partnership and contest bring increased awareness to the benefits of preparing for the future.”
