To mark Child Support Awareness Month, today Treasurer Tom Briese highlighted the efforts of the Nebraska Child Support Payment Center (NCSPC), a division within the Nebraska Treasurer’s Office.
“During Child Support Awareness Month – and throughout the year – it is vitally important that Nebraska children and their caregivers have access to the resources they need to lead healthy and secure lives,” Treasurer Briese said. “The staff of the NCSPC is a huge part of that equation, and I thank them for their hard work.”
The NCSPC has collected more than $271 million in 2023and has been recognized nationally for its innovative and cost-effective systems and its use of electronic money transfer. Currently, 89.8 percent of all child support payments are received electronically, and 98 percent of all child support payments are distributed within 2 business days, saving money in postage, paper, and processing.
In addition, the payment center now offers a variety of email/text notifications and are sending out payment notifications on more than 99.0% of all disbursements going out to parents receiving payments. Similar email/text billing and or payment option notifications are going out to paying parents to include a QR Code for use at the self-service NE Rapid Pay kiosks.
