Treasurer Stenberg Takes Oath of Office

Don Stenberg was sworn in Thursday, Jan. 8, for his second term as Nebraska State Treasurer.

A private ceremony took place in the Wherry Room before Secretary of State John Gale. A second public ceremony took place in the Nebraska Legislative Chamber with the oath administered by Hon. Michael Heavican, Chief Justice of the Nebraska Supreme Court.

The swearing-in ceremony in the Legislative Chamber also featured the inauguration of Gov. Pete Ricketts and Lt. Gov. Mike Foley. Ricketts was sworn in as the state’s 40th governor during the ceremony. Other Constitutional officers also were sworn in.

A reception open to the public followed in the Governor’s Reception Room in the Capitol.
